Just because the contract is 10 years, doesn't necessarily mean that it will run for 10 years. That's just what was mutually agreed upon to provide security for both sides of the endeavour. Either party could likely cancel if they wanted by paying some kind of penalty which would likely get smaller as the years pass. I really don't think that Criss would be the one to do it though. He doesn't quit
anything. More likely that Cirque would be the one to say "Ok, this thing has run its course".
I'm fairly certain I read a few months back that this was a future possibility, but I don't remember any details.
Here's something to ponder though - What if they didn't
have to break the contract? What if they both mutually agreed that the show might do well as a touring show? Cirque is well equipped to travel. Everyone keeps their jobs and the show keeps making money. I don't see the downside.
